| Text: | I inherited an old piece of hardware and cant seem to make use of it. It appears to be a parallel port connection Sound card. Made by Digispeech or Internet Telephone Corp. FCC ID: IOBDS301A I found a digispeech driver, but no further information, and am not even sure that the driver I found is for this aparatus.
It appears to have a CAT% connection in the side of it, along with an "audio in", "mic","line out" and a receptacle for 9 volt input. One end seeminly fits the Parallel port, and the other end appears to be a parrallel port pass through so that the port is still available even when this unit is installed.
Can anyone tell me any more about this, or where I can get a manual? |

I have what appears to be a M912 486 Motherboard. I am having trouble with the positive Identification. It is a green colored board, has 7 white 16 bit ISA slots with 3 that have an additional black connector at the end of them. It has a PC Chips Chipset with the Chip16 and Chip18 IC's. It has four 30 pin simms and 2 72 pin simms sockets. If you rotate the motherboard so that the CMOS battery and the keyboard socket is in the upper right corner, there is a V1.7 silkscreened onto the motherboard. However, this does not correspond with the black vs. the white ISA description of which the white is supposed to be a V1.4. Can you clarify this? Can you provide a manual for this motherboard? Ich habe neulich den Yahoo Messenger runtergeladen. Die Installation lief gut, aber als ich versucht habe, die Anwendung zu öffnen, kam diese Meldung: Die Datei YPAGER.EXE ist verknüpft mit dem fehlenden Export-OLE!UT32.DLL:277 und ein anderes Fenster mit : Ein an das System angeschlossenes Gerät funktioniert nicht.
Was bedeutet das?
Nach einer Weile habe ich festgestellt, dass auch beim Starten ein paar anderen Programmen diese Fehlermeldungen erscheinen, z.B. Internet Explorer und Microsoft Money.
Ich würde mich sehr freuen wenn jemand eine Lösung wüsste! :)

| Text: | I want to use a Wide-SCSI harddisk (IBM DFHS4W) with an SCSI-2 controller.
So I'm using an adapter from 68 pins on the drive to 50 pins on the cable. The drive is not recognized by the SCSI controller.
I have checked the adapter with another wide drive and it works.
I have checked the IBM drive with a Wide-SCSI controller and it works.
Is it possible that there are different kinds of adapters and how can I recognize them ?
Someone told me to use pull-downs for the upper data bits on the drive that are not used. But it doesn't work.
I have also set the jumper for "narrow mode" on the IBM drive.

I recieved the message "MCI driver failed during overlay initialization" .
There are no other programming on the task bar at that moment.
There are no IRQ error at the system info screen.
And all the drivers and applications are installed.
Could somebody help me?

ich habe mir gestern eine neue grafikkarte gekauft:
aopen pa 3020 mit: riva tnt2_ultra.
folgendes system besitze ich:
- p3 450
-128 mb ram, pc100
-siemensmainboard mit amibios (sqf618)
-scsicontroller von dawicontrol: dc2976 uw.
problem:
habe die grafikkarte heute in den agp-port gesteckt und neu gestartet. nachdem das bios die ide-geräte korrekt identifiziert hatte, sollte es eigentlich zur scsi-karte übergehen. TAT ER NICHT. ich schmiss also kurzerhand den scsi-controller raus und... siehe da, es geht.
was ist das problem, denn ich möchte auch meinen scsi-controller weiterhin betreiben??? für ne mail wär ich dankbar.

If got a PRoblem with an PrintServer! If got the Produkt from a Friend and i´m very glad on having it but i cant configure or do anything with it because i don´t know from witch distibuter or Producent the PrintServer was made. I found on the Case the Model Name: PSE1S2P-FN an Serial number and a SEver Name: SC029924
but nothing else an there is no Handboock or Case esle

I have a problem with this display card, when ever I set it to 1024 x 746 with 16 bit colour and 75 Hz refesh rate it look nice but when ever I try to use xing to play VCD the picture is clear but got many small line in between the picture and also when ever I try to use any of my word processing program like MS word or Amipro when ever I type and I press the ENTER key some of my word are missing then I try using Pagedown and Pageup key it came back to normal.
I have try using 800 x 600 with 16 bit colour and 85 Hz there is no problem with it.
I am using a S3 Virge 64 bit PCI with 4 MB EDO RAM and the S3 refresh softwere ver. 2.01.01. and I am using NEC M700 17" monitor.It is using the new Driver which is supported by windows 95 and I have installed Directx 5.0 upgraded to 5.2.
Please help me to solver the problem.

I am having a problem with the CD-ROM driver. At the moment I am running Windows 3.1 and the CD-ROM drive is an internal drive running on ACER computer.
When it loads the command at autoexec.bat file the line listed as
LH /l:1,36224 C:\MAGIC\MSCDEX.EXE /D: MSCDOAK /M:10 /V.
It gives the error messages as:
"Device driver not found: 'MSCDOAK'.
No valid CD ROM device drivers selected. "
So can anyone provide me this mozart driver called "mscdoak"??

have a look into your CONFIG.SYS file. There must be a line with the CD-ROM-driver, e.g.
DEVICE=C:\MAGIC\MTMCDAI.SYS /D:MSCDOAK
If there isn't such a line find out the CD-ROM-driver's name and where it resides and add the line. The keyword MSCDOAK isn't a driver but an identifier. The entry in the AUTOEXEC.BAT MSCDEX-statement must match the DEVICE=-entry in the CONFIG.SYS. |

I used a flash upgrade on my friends computer bios
and now it wont start up.The motherboard is a
Microstar Achme MS5129/TR5.It had originally AMI
Bios dated August '96.The flash I downloaded from
the ftp site is the correct one to convert it to a more recent Award bios and the flash program repoerted a successful upgrade but when I
reboot-nothing.What can I do,can the flash programming be undone in some way,since the computer wont start I do not know what to do myself.Does anyone have any ideas?

esser@fiction.pb.owl.de answers:I assume you are using EDO-RAMs. Many BIOSes are configured for NON-EDO RAM by default. Lend yourself some NON-EDO RAM to get your PC booted and change this setting. Next time you may boot with your EDO RAMs. |

It only has one DIMM-bank for SDRAM memory and i wonder if i could put one 64mb SDRAM there and if the mainbord supports it. | Text: | I have a modem and a soundcard, the problem is that they don't work together. When I remove the soundcard from my computer, the modem doesn't work.
When I put the soundcard back in the computer , the PC doesn't know where to find the modem. I have the modem installed on COM3 because my BIOS
(AWARD 2a4x5v3h) doesn't disable my comports.
Can you help me........???? |

this is a pcchips m912 or amptron dx6900
(same board)
I tried to change from a intel dx2-66 to a intel
dx4-100. with the -100 the board seems to be "dead" and there is no sign of any warming in the processor. I have 2 dx4-100 processors.
I also have another system that has a amd dx4/120
I use the 120 system to test the -100 processors so I know they are OK
also, no mention is made of the jumper settings for the cache chips and cachechk reports NO cache
the cache chips on this board are dips. Not the "famous" postage stam chips that are often fakes.
I have corresponded with pcchips and ther engineer suggested jumper settings. It made no difference.
I have the original book and the info from pcchips & amptron. not a word! |
